Invisalign is an advanced form of orthodontic treatment. Instead of using brackets and archwires to improve the position of your teeth and jaw, it uses a series of removable, see-through plastic aligners.
Each Invisalign aligner is made from an FDA-approved material called SmartTrack®. SmartTrack is free of gluten, latex, and BPA, making it safe for individuals with allergies as well as pregnant people.
What’s more, treatment is much quicker than traditional braces, allowing for outcomes in as little as 12 months*.
At Allure Dental of Hollywood, Dr. Valdman uses Invisalign to treat various alignment issues, including:
You might also be a candidate for Invisalign if you have gaps between two or more of your teeth.
Before Dr. Valdman recommends Invisalign treatment, he conducts an oral exam, reviews your dental history, and asks what you like and dislike about your smile. If he discovers alignment issues, like crooked teeth or a malpositioned bite, he moves forward with treatment.
First, Dr. Valdman takes digital scans of your mouth. He uploads your scans to a computer-aided design program developed by Invisalign. The program allows Dr. Valdman to develop an orthodontic treatment plan that maps out the step-by-step movements of your teeth and jaw.
After finalizing a plan, Dr. Valdman sends your scans to an Invisalign laboratory. Technicians at the lab use your scans to design and manufacture your first set of Invisalign aligners.
When the aligners are ready, you return to Allure Dental of Hollywood and try them on. During Invisalign treatment, wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to eat or brush and floss. Every two or three weeks, you visit Dr. Valdman and transition into a new set of aligners.
Each new set of aligners places pressure on your teeth and jaw, improving their position.
The length of time that orthodontic treatment with Invisalign takes depends on various factors, including the alignment issues treated, your commitment to Dr. Valdman’s plan, and if you wear your aligners as prescribed. Most people finish treatment in 12* months, but it can take 18 months or longer. Be patient and make sure to attend each of your appointments.
